Backpack manual question: Carrying backpack

In the past 20 years, there have been customers bringing us such problems every year.

  • How to wear a backpack
  • How to wear a backpack properly
  • Why is my backpack so heavy
  • How to properly wear a backpack
  • How to wear backpack
  • How to carry a backpack

At first, we were also puzzled about this question, is there really someone who doesn't know how to carry a backpack? Passing through the straps with both hands in turn, doesn't it like wearing the backpack as wearing clothes?

Backpack manual question: How to wear a backpack properly?

After follow-up communication, I learned that some customers take consumers seriously. Their question is actually "how to make a backpack manual". My customer hopes that he can let customers feel how serious they are about the product.

If a backpack seller has the same mind, you can start working with the following process to make a qualified product manual.

Choose a suitable backpack

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), school-going children should only carry 10% to 20% of their body weight in their backpacks. which is ten or fifteen pounds for a hundred-pound child. (The Ultimate Guide To Backpack Sizes and weight) An overweight backpack will make the child relieve this pressure by bending the body or hunchback, That hunching can cause damage to the spine and make a child vulnerable to a slipped disk or osteoarthritis in the future. Adults are the same, do not carry overweight backpacks, especially for people with short stature and poor physical strength, as well as those elderly and pregnant women.

Adjust your backpack.

Before you fill your backpack and start wearing it, you need to adjust your backpack properly. Adjusting your backpack can help make it more comfortable and prevent injuries. Make sure your backpack fits properly before using it regularly. Most backpacks have a section on the straps that you can use to adjust the length of the straps yourself.

  • Pulling more or less strap through the buckle will adjust the strap length.
  • Adjust the straps of the backpack until it fits snugly against your back.
  • Do not leave too much slack in the straps of the backpack, as wearing the backpack too low can cause back pain.
  • Make sure both straps are the same length to ensure that the weight of your backpack is evenly distributed.

Keep right ways carry a backpack

I personally think that this must be clearly stated in the product description or backpack manual. Many children and even adults do not know this.

Here are two commonly incorrect ways to wear a backpack, along with an explanation of why the wearing style could put the wearer at risk for injury. And someone will have the question: why is my backpack so heavy when their use wrong wearing way to use a backpack.

  • The One Strap Sling Method of Wearing
-wrong way to use the backpack

This is a common way for kids and teens to wear their backpacks. Unfortunately, using only one strap puts asymmetrical pressure on one shoulder and the upper back and neck. This asymmetrical loading can cause shoulder, neck, and/or back pain, as well as headaches and possibly also upper limb sensation issues like tingling or a cold sensation. The uneven pressure of the backpack creates poor posture, which also causes gait deviations. Altered walking mechanics can potentially lead to hip and knee pain as well. Carrying a backpack asymmetrically also leads to the development of muscle imbalances between the two sides of the body. This can set the wearer up for other seemingly unrelated issues such as shoulder tendonitis.

  • Low Back Pack Method of Wearing –

Wearing a backpack low on the back may seem to make it easier to take the bag on and off. However, wearing a backpack in this manner increases pressure on the backside of the shoulders, which often causes kids to lean forward to counterbalance the weight. This forward lean then places excess strain on the low back. Loose straps that allow the backpack to hang low can also cause the bag to sway back and forth when walking. This creates shear forces on the spine and also causes an unsteady weight load, further increasing the risk for a back injury while also potentially chaffing the shoulders.

Backpacks Designed for Women and Children

These days, more and more companies are putting out products that are specifically designed for women and children with smaller torsos and other considerations. Backpacks designed for women have shoulder straps designed with consideration for breasts. The ones designed for kids have shorter torso lengths and are designed to fit a child’s frame perfectly. For this same reason, they are sometimes ideal for smaller women as well.

Backpack manual question: Backpack with leather diamond

-Backpack with leather diamond

If you have seen enough backpack types, you may have noticed that many backpacks have some kind of leather, diamond-shaped patches, with parallel lines on them, like vertical or horizontal equal signs or similar illustrations.

Some customers have come to ask me this kind of question. His colleague's product has such a strange leather part, and he is not sure whether he needs this part too. when we make a backpack manual, this tip must be written.

Some brand merchants will ask me many questions

  • what is that diamond thing on backpacks
  • what is the diamond on a backpack for
  • what are the backpacks with the diamond called
  • what is the diamond with two lines on backpacks
  • what is the diamond thing on backpacks
  • what is the backpack brand with two lines

This is a lash tap, it is not only a decoration but also a unique function,Originally, it was designed to carry an ice ax. As mentioned in our artics Who invented the first backpack, the history of backpacks is related to hiking, travel, and war. In these scenes, you sometimes don’t want your backpack to be dirty or your hats and other items squashed in the backpack.

-Lash tap was originally invented to carry ice axes

You can pass the rope through the middle part and tie the items to your bag. This is convenient if there is something that doesn't fit your bag, or if you want to keep it out off the backpack. You can also use it to help tie your cap, shoes.

Backpack manual question: How to put a zipper back on track

On any backpack, the zipper is one of the most important parts. In order to fit your gear in the main compartment of the hiking backpack, the zipper must be fully functional. It is not uncommon for backpack zippers to fail. When this happens, the repair of the backpack's zipper becomes necessary.

How to fix the zipper on the backpack-the solution to the main zipper problem?

Lubrication problems

If the zipper on the backpack feels broken because it cannot move up and down, this may be a lubrication problem. To repair a backpack zipper that does not move, you can use the following solutions:

graphite

Graphite provides good lubrication for the zipper. If you have a #2 pencil, just rub the nib on the area where the zipper is stuck.

After coating the graphite, try to move the zipper. If the problem is just a simple lubrication problem, you should be able to pack up and start your backpacking trip.

Laundry soap

If graphite cannot solve the lubrication problem, you should consider trying laundry soap. Put a little laundry soap on the dish and add a few spoonfuls of water. Mix until you have a semi-thick solution.

Take a cotton swab and soak it in the solution. Wet the zipper with a cotton swab, and then try to move the zipper again.

Candle wax/crayon

Another ideal way to repair a backpack zipper when the zipper is stuck is to use wax. Household waxes are usually effective. However, if you do not have household wax, you can use crayon sticks or old candles. Just rub the wax stick where the zipper is stuck, and then try to move it.

Bent Teeth Problem

If the backpack teeth are bent, lubrication will not be the solution. However, if the problem is crooked teeth, it is easy to learn how to fix the zipper on the backpack.

The only thing you need is a pair of pliers if you have a backpack repair kit, you should have pliers. Just use pliers to clamp the crooked teeth and manipulate them to straighten them. You may need to repeat it several times to restore the tooth. However, try to avoid pulling too hard, as the teeth may eventually fall out of the tape.

Broken pull problem

The easiest way to repair damaged tension is to use a paperclip. Just open one end of the paperclip and pass it through the hole where the zipper pull is located. Or, you can convert the phone line connector, keyring, or any small, malleable and flexible item into a zipper pull that fits your backpack type.

The problem of broken slider

If the slider of your travel backpack is damaged, the easiest way to repair the backpack zipper is to replace the slider. For someone who is learning how to fix a zipper on a backpack for the first time, this may sound complicated. If you have pliers, this process will be very easy.

Just use pliers to cut off the damaged slider. Next, reinstall the new slider by slowly sliding the new slider onto the zipper teeth. If you can get the new zipper into the correct groove and reach the desired angle, it shouldn't take long.

Completely damaged zipper

If the zipper on the tactical backpack is completely damaged, replacing the entire zipper may be the only solution. You can use a knife to carefully cut off the damaged zipper.

Next, pick up the new zipper and look for its center. Match the center of the zipper to the top center of the backpack. Sew one side from the top center, and sew the other side again from the top center.

Be sure to avoid uneven sewing threads and gap formation. In addition, please make sure that the zipper ratchet and the traction device are well-positioned.

After sewing the zipper on the outside of the backpack, turn the backpack inside and out, and repeat the process on the other side. Start at the top center and work down on both sides. Be sure to keep the zipper closed when sewing.

Common problem when you meet on backpack manual.

Q: How to get the zipper back on track?

A: To put the zipper back in place, just cut a slit between the teeth on the zipper tape. The gap should be deep and open so that you can insert the zipper slider. Next, just slide the zipper slider all the way down.

Q: How do you fix the zipper on the bag?

A: How to fix the zipper on the bag depends on the problem you are facing. For example, if the zipper is stuck due to a lack of lubrication, just use graphite, wax or laundry soap to lubricate the zipper. If the teeth are bent, use pliers to straighten them. If the slider is broken, just replace it.

Q: How to repair the zipper that fell off from one side?

A: To fix the zipper when the slider comes off from one side, simply move the slider all the way down to a reachable position. Just above the zipper, on the side where the slider comes off, cut a seam between the two zipper teeth. Slide the slider in and move it up. Above the gap you cut, sew the closed zipper together with a sewing needle and thread to prevent the slider from falling off again.

Q: How to repair a broken zipper slider?

A: The best way to repair a damaged zipper slider is to replace it. Simply remove the damaged slider and slide the new slider into place. If you already have a new zipper slider near you, this should only take a few minutes.

Backpack manual question: How to remove gum from backpack

Sometimes, we have to face the problem of chewing gum on the backpack. The chewing gum is sticky enough, especially in the summer when the temperature is high. It becomes very difficult to remove the chewing gum from the backpack, but we have enough ways to do it. Solve this problem.

Question 1how to remove gum from backpack
Question 2how to get gum off a backpack
Question 3how to get gum off a backpack

Method one:

1 Put the backpack in the refrigerator. If you have chewing gum on your favorite backpack, please fold the backpack carefully so that the chewing gum faces outwards. Make a space in the refrigerator so you can put the folded backpack in. Put the backpack in the refrigerator until the gum hardens. Depending on the thickness of the gum, you may need to freeze the clothes for an hour or two.

Avoid covering the backpack with things that the gum might stick to. You can simply put it on the shelf of the refrigerator.

2 Freeze the gum with ice cubes. If you cannot put the backpack in the refrigerator or get wet, put ice cubes directly on the gum. If you should not get the material wet, place an ice pack or a bag full of ice on the gum. Put the gum on ice for 10 to 15 minutes or until the gum is hard.

3 Take off the hardened gum. Once the gum has hardened from the refrigerator or ice cubes, use your fingers to remove as much gum as possible. Then you can use a butter knife or spatula to scrape off the small pieces of gum that may still be on the backpack.

Avoid scratching the fabric with anything that may damage the fibers.

4 Use dry cleaning solvent or mineral spirits to remove the residue. Spray dry cleaning solvent onto the sponge and blot the fabric area with the gum. Continue to soak dry with the sponge until the area is no longer sticky. If you do not have a dry cleaning solvent, you can use a sponge dipped in mineral spirits.

5 Clean the fabric according to the care instructions. Read the care label inside the backpack to learn how to clean it properly. If there is residue or stains on the gum, you can usually clean the area on-site. Wipe off the stain with a clean cloth, and then use a sponge to wipe a little soapy water. Use another wet sponge to wipe off the soap from the stain. Wash the fabric as usual, but check it before drying. If there are still stains, treat the stains again.

If the fabric is dried while the stain is still present, it may set the stain. This will make it more difficult to remove.

Method Two:

1 Soak the gum in lemon juice or hot vinegar.

Heat a bowl of vinegar until it gets hot or pours fresh lemon juice into the bowl. Put the part of the backpack with chewing gum in hot vinegar or lemon juice. Let the gum soak. Depending on the hardness of the gum, you need to soak it for several hours or overnight. You should be able to scrape or brush off the gum easily. Wash the fabric immediately after removing the gum.

Before soaking the gum, be sure to test a small piece of fabric. This will let you know if the fabric will be damaged by hot vinegar or lemon juice.

2 Use hairspray to harden the gum. If you cannot freeze the gum in the refrigerator or ice cubes, spray it with hair spray. This should harden the gum so you can simply remove it. You can also use a blunt tool to gently pry the chewing gum.

Before starting, test a small piece of fabric of the same material as the backpack to ensure that the hairspray will not damage the fabric.

3 Soften the gum with oil. Consider applying cooking oil, peanut butter, or mayonnaise to the gum. You need to massage the oil or mayonnaise slightly into the gum. This makes it easier to scrape off. Wash the backpack immediately to prevent oil from staining the fabric.

Remember, you may not be able to remove oil stains on delicate fabrics. Use oil only if you know that you can wash the oil off the backpack.

Backpack manual question: How to remove gum from leather backpack?

1 Pull off most of the gum. Once you notice the gum on the leather backpack, use your fingers to gently pull down as much gum as possible. Make sure not to smear the gum on the leather while pulling.

2Tear off the gum with tape. Take a piece of scotch tape and place it on the gum. Press the gum to make it stick to the tape. Pull off the tape and some of the gum should fall off. Continue to lay the new tape and lift the gum until all the gum is removed.

Depending on the strength of the tape, you may pass through a whole roll of tape.

3 Wash the area with cleaning products or soapy water. After removing the gum, the leather may become dirty. To clean the leather, you can use commercial leather cleaning products or use mild detergent and warm water. Just moisten the sponge with soapy water and gently wipe the leather. Avoid pulling or scrubbing the leather.

You may be able to wash off any tiny gums that are still stuck to the leather.

4 Use mineral spirits to remove sticky residue. Dip a clean cloth into a small plate of mineral spirits. Slowly wipe the sticky areas on the leather with a cloth. After removing the sticky residue, wipe the area with a clean dry cloth. This should thoroughly clean the leather and remove the final gum.

Mineral spirits are also called white spirits and mineral turpentine. Use mineral spirits in a well-ventilated area and avoid touching the soaked cloth with bare hands, as mineral spirits can irritate your skin.

Do not throw away the cloth soaked in mineral spirits. Instead, put it in a container with water and take it to a local hazardous waste treatment facility.

5 Condition the leather. Use the manufacturer's instructions to protect the leather or use a commercial leather conditioner. This will moisturize the leather because you may have removed some of the protective oil from the fabric.

Backpack manual question: How to remove sharpie from backpack?

Backpack manual question: How to Make a Secret Pocket in a Backpack

Backpacks consist of pockets and zipper bags, designed to hold items of various sizes and shapes. You can add a secret pocket to your backpack to hide items, such as wallets or keys, to avoid random inspections. Add a hidden pocket without cutting the backpack or otherwise damaging it.

  1. Open the zipper bag that is the least accessible on the backpack. Use a tape measure to measure the inner dimensions (length and width) of the bag. Write down this measurement. Purchase a piece of cloth with the same color as the inside of the pouch and the same length and width as the recorded size.

  2. Place the cloth horizontally on the table. Measure 1 inch from the left side of the cloth. Use a ruler and scissors to cut the cloth vertically at the 1-inch mark.

  3. Measure the width of the cloth from one end to the other. Use a ruler and scissors to cut the cloth vertically at the middle mark. Dispose of excess cloth.

  4. Put the newspaper on the table. Place one of the two cloths vertically on the newspaper. Apply adhesive glue on both sides of the cloth. Apply adhesive glue to the end of the cloth closest to you.

  5. Align the other cloth with the cloth on the newspaper. Press the two pieces together to form a pocket. Let the adhesive solidify overnight.

  6. Measure the length and width of the pockets you make. Use scissors to cut the hook pad strip to the same length as the length of the pocket. Cut the other hook pad strip to this length. Remove the adhesive from each hook pad strip you cut. Place the sticky side of each strip against one side of the pocket. Press down on the strip and stick it to the pocket.

  7. Cut a hook pad strip that is the same width as the pocket. Remove the adhesive from the hook pad strip you just cut. Place the sticky side of the strip against the end of the pocket closet. Press down on the strip and stick it to the pocket.

  8. Cut the locking pad strip to the same length as the measurement previously taken for the inside of the bag. Cut the other locking pad strip to this length.

  9. Remove the adhesive from each latch pad strip you cut. Place the sticky side of each strip against the inside edge of the bag. Press down on the strip to stick it inside the pouch.

  10. Cut the locking pad strip to the same width as the width of the bag. Remove the adhesive from the latch pad strip. Place the sticky side of the strip against the inside bottom of the bag. Press down on the strip and stick it to the bottom of the pouch. Put the backpack and clothes aside until the next day.

  11. Put the cloth that is now the secret pocket in the pouch. Align the hook pad strip on the cloth with the lock strip in the bag. Press the two together. Close the zipper of the pouch.

Backpack manual question: How to put a patch on a backpack

  1. Make sure the bag is clean and all the items in the backpack are in one place.
  2. Obtain your patch and place it where you want to place it. Use a few pins or a few safety pins to fix it where you want to place it. Make sure that the location you choose allows you to enter the inside or the other side, if you can get inside, it will be easier to grasp.
  3. Take some thread that is similar in color to the edge of the patch, cut off about 20-30 cm, and insert a strong but thin needle and keep it single, do not fold it in half, and tie it at the end
  4. After tying the knot, cut off the excess thread and leave about 1cm after tying the knot
  5. First pull the thread from behind the patch to hide the first knot.
  6. Use the "whip stitch" to surround the patch. This involves grabbing a bit of the base fabric, then grabbing a bit of the patch, and repeating.
  7. At the end, wrap the needle around the stitches twice, then pull, and then pass through the front of the patch from the bottom of the patch, place the needle farther from the edge of the patch, and then cut the thread very close to patch. This will leave some threads under the patch.

You may need to use a thimble (or the back of scissors) to pass the needle through the patch, especially if the patch is thick.

If you haven't done it before, don't worry, install the given steps step by step to complete the work.
